Belle's Gold Ballgown

Watercolor of Belle in her famous gold ballgown from Beauty and the Beast. I'm a bit picky when it comes to this dress. Too many productions have it as a yellow dress. Even the Disney parks have it yellow. But in the film it seems to be slightly darker, so I've always thought it was gold. The gold watercolor paint was a little difficult to work with, so that's why it's clumping on the paper. The final dress was made from gold (yay!) taffetta, worn over a large full petticoat with gold elbow-length opera gloves. Only problem was that there is a relatively quick change between Belle and the Prince exiting after all the principal objects have returned to human form and when they re-enter for the finale: dress turned out to be really hard to work with when there's very little time. But we did it every night, so no harm done.
